The protected witness C, a former member of ?Zulfikar? Unit with the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that, after having entered the village of Trusina near Konjic he saw a few captured members of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO and three of his comrades, including Samir Semsovic, standing next to them. ?
The witness recalled that some time later Semsovic and Ahmet Kokic were wounded and that Dzeko drove them away.?? ?
?Almost all of us carried Samko and Ahmet. I think that we got a stretcher and carried them to some village. One of us asked a local resident to give us his car, which was used for transporting them somewhere else. I think that Dzeko drove the car,? the witness said.

The witness C said that he did not go back to Trusina afterwards but to the nearby village of Parsovici, along with some of his comrades.
After having returned to the Mount Igman, where the Zulfikar Unit Command was positioned, he found out that Semsovic died on the way.

When asked if he heard what happened to the captives, the witness said that he heard that they had been killed.

Dzeko is charged with killing Croat prisoners of war, together with other soldiers, and with killing two elderly Croat civilians, during the attack on Trusina on April 16, 1993.
The indictment also charges him with crimes against Bosnian Croats committed in Jablanica in the second half of 1993.

The witness C said that, prior to and during the operation he did not see neither the unit commander nor his deputy, adding that he did not hear whether anybody had issued an order that ?there must be no survivors in the village? prior to the attack.

The public was briefly excluded from the hearing four times, because the witness responded to questions that might have revealed his identity.

A new protected prosecution witness is due to be examined at a hearing scheduled for October 16.
